Like the last release, whatever you open a new tab, the address bar is NOT in focus. This small thing, makes a bad user experience. Please fix it, or at least let it be selectable from the options.

In complete agreement with Ruben Salgado.

disable-new-menu-style is not working any more!!! I came from beta not dev version.... any new parameter to disable that?? or remove big spaces in menu?

Same problem here. The command line option to disable new menu style is not working any more.

How do I get the old menu style back?

The new menu style has way too much spacing lowering usability. It's like you have implemented some sort of "granny mode" into Chrome and there's no way to turn it off.

On the new tab page, I see only 4 of my most visited tabs (instead of 8!) due to the humongous search box. Also, the 'Other devices' and 'Recently closed' buttons have vanished - I use these all the time. Changing stuff is good, but taking away stuff is not!

Okay I found the recent tabs hidden away in the menu - not the most obvious place to put it! Terribly inconvenient.

I just got an update today and like the previous poster mentioned the 6 most visited sites are now down to 4 and the images of those are microscopic. The last visited bar is gone and the new way this is set up in the drop down list is only letting me go back to the last site I visted and not listing the last few.

If things stay this way I am going back to Firefox or even moving to Opera.

Google drive is presenting an error after updating it could be coincidence but I think its something to do with this update.

to fix or to disable this matter :
1) ...address bar is NOT in focus
2) ...most visited site in new tab
3) ...other device / recently closed menu/dropdown list in new tab

-go to address bar
-type "chrome://flags" (without " ")
-then search "Enable Instant extended API Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS"
(for fast searching, hit CTRL+F and type "Enable Instant extended API Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS")
-on dropdown menu, choose "Disabled"
-then click "Relaunched Now"

after relaunched, you get back old new tab style with 8 most visited site

In all seriousness: The new "new tab page" SUCKS.

Sufawi Husin, thank you very much for this information. Now my google chrome is useful again for me. I was getting crazy. I agree that the new tab page is not that good at all... And when I didn't see the recent tabs button I got very disappointed. *sigh* maybe it is time to look for an alternative to Google Chrome just in case.

Thanks Sufawi!!

I couldn't even get a "new tab" page. New tab just opened plain vanilla google search box.

If anyone figures out how to not have all menus and bookmarks double-spaced, please share!

Seems the new google is all about having LOTS of whitespace EVERYWHERE with no possibility of information density.

Oh it feels so snappy, or is it just me? Love the new address bar search and the tab page. Also, recent tabs!
